Halloween on the Pier

Photo: Joanna Huang / UnsplashRedondo is the Beach Cities entry point for a lot of buyers, especially through townhomes. It's also a place where emotion runs high and a few thousand dollars in negotiation can hide in the contingency period.
North Redondo and South Redondo are close on a map but different markets. North Redondo has a lot of two-on-a-lot and side-by-side townhomes and is popular with first-time Beach Cities buyers. South Redondo, closer to Riviera Village and the water, trades higher.
Townhomes come with their own homework. Some have an HOA with a budget and reserves to review; some are two-unit setups with a shared agreement and no formal HOA. Either way, you want to know who pays for the roof, the shared walls and the driveway before you own it.
Because demand is steady, buyers who win usually have the details handled early. And once you're in contract, the inspection period is where real money is saved or lost.

★★★★★“Memo did an exceptional job negotiating our deal and he was very knowledgeable in navigating the process as we were first time homebuyers in LA county. He got exactly what we wanted during the contingency period.”Bought a townhouse · Redondo Beach · 2024
For many buyers, yes. They're often the most approachable way into the Beach Cities. Just review the HOA or shared maintenance agreement, insurance and any planned repairs before you commit.
Mostly location and price. South Redondo is closer to the water and Riviera Village and usually trades higher. North Redondo has more townhomes and is popular with first-time Beach Cities buyers.
Repairs, a closing cost credit or a price adjustment, based on what the inspection reports find. A credit is often cleaner than asking the seller to do the work.
